AECOM was asked to prepare an evidence-based framework to guide the NSW government in the planning and supporting of existing and future innovation precincts. I provided technical leadership, guidance and written material for the report. This work was globally peer reviewed and tested extensively with local innovation stakeholders. The report provided the evidence to support a decision-making framework built around seven success factors.

The seven Success Factors are:

  • INDUSTRY DRIVERS
  • COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE
  • NETWORKING & COLLABORATION
  • INFRASTRUCTURE
  • LIVEABILITY & AMENITY
  • CULTURE & IDENTITY
  • GOVERNANCE & LEADERSHIP

The report was peer-reviewed by Greg Clark, CBE - a leading thinker in this field.
